St Augustine Explored is actually run by a real person. It’s true! While I do share recommendations and written content from friends and business buddies around St Augustine, I am but one man doing the fine work of sharing all the things to do in St Augustine, where to stay for a wonderful visit or staycation, and who’s currently got the best fish tacos (hint: nobody has been able to take the title from Taco Libre for their pescado taco for years).
If you want to partner with St Augustine Explored, if you’re interested in sharing your experience or want to tell your business’s story, please let me know! Teamwork makes the dream work, especially when you’re a one-man-show. I’d be happy to publish well written, informative articles and notices from inspired, experienced and informed individuals.
Who is St Augustine Explored? It’s me, Rob Taylor!
Hey there! I’m Rob and I live in beautiful St Augustine Beach, Florida. We moved to the Beach from Butler Beach, so even if we’ve only lived in our neighborhood since 2023 we’re not new to St Augustine. In addition to this site, I also run 2TravelDads.com and PaddleYourState.com. In all my ventures it’s my goal to share useful information that others can use to help plan their travel, or in the case of St Augustine, to enjoy your life here even more.
I find that many people want to have a unique experience when they leave their house on an adventure, and whether you’re a St Augustine local or you’re visiting us for the first time, there are lots of great things to do all around St Johns County that will make your time here even more enjoyable.
My Favorite St Augustine Activities
My job is beach. It’s actually true. My job takes me to the beach for photos, for news stories, for exercise and to pick up little bits of trash that irresponsible people leave behind. The beach is my jam and I’m so thankful to live a block from it! But there’s more to life here and more to ME than just the beach.
I am an avid paddler, both kayaking and standup paddling, with the Intracoastal Waterway and Silver River being my two favorite local paddling spots. If you aren’t sure where to kayak around North Florida, I’m sure I have a recommendation for you.
I am also a professional wildlife photographer. We are fortunate here in St Augustine because we have the beach, the Intracoastal, the marsh, the St Johns River, Silver and Ocklawaha Rivers, springs and so much more to explore! Our coastal hammocks and hardwood forests are amazing and full of wildlife. And you’ll find lots of information here all about seeing wildlife around St Augustine!
Note: if you’re a wildlife professional (guide, naturalist, photographer…) and you want to share here on St Augustine Explored, please let me know! I love hearing from others who are passionate about our local creatures.
Thanks for stopping by, and stay tuned. As St Augustine Explored continues to grow, hopefully I’ll get to add people to the team. I look forward to working with business and tourism providers from all around St Johns County, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you want to be a part of that!
